Bordjalu is a bold, archetypal design executed in vibrant colors of madder red, olive green, deep navy blue, and ivory. This rug is among the most distinctive Armenian carpet designs, incorporating deeply meaningful symbols into the bright and energetic palettes. This Bordjalu rug is hand-knotted of 100% Armenian wool on a wool foundation and adorned in wool fringe. Historically the Bordjalu rugs were woven in a district just south of Tiflis and has a pile height of around a third of an inch. This piece measures 5\' 4\" x 6\' 10\".
