Chobi rugs first emerged in Northern Afghanistan during the 1990s as a more refined expression of the region\'s long-established weaving traditions. The name comes from the Farsi word chob, meaning wood, which reflects the soft, timber-toned colour palette these rugs are known for.

This rug is hand-knotted by Afghan artisans using skill passed down through generations. The wool is hand-spun using traditional methods, selected for its softness, quality and natural strength. Because it retains its lanolin, the pile has a naturally silky feel underfoot and a gentle sheen that holds over time.

The tightly packed knot structure gives the rug a fine, durable finish and allows for greater detail across the design. The low pile catches light softly and wears exceptionally well, making it well suited to frequently used spaces in the home.
