Zeki Müren, one of Turkey’s most celebrated cultural figures, introduced bold, modern compositions into traditional Anatolian weaving during the mid-20th century. This design reflects that shift—eschewing conventional medallions and borders in favor of a rhythmic, geometric abstraction rendered in layered tonal browns and warm neutrals. The result is graphic yet restrained, with a distinctly mid-century sensibility.

Hand knotted in wool on a cotton foundation, the rug has a low, velvety pile and a refined, substantial feel characteristic of well-made Turkish rugs from this period.

Very good vintage condition.

Estimated to be over 60 years old.
