This fabulous antique Persian Shiraz rug, made in the early 1900s, brings together bold design and deep tradition. At the center, three-poled medallions with a cross detail, meant to ward off the evil eye, stand out against a rich garnet red background. Around them, tribal motifs bring movement and character. In the corners, dark blue spandrels hold animal figures that look like mythical dragons, which were believed to guard treasures and offer protection.

The border bands frame it all nicely, especially the main one, which pops with an ivory background and more tribal designs. Handwoven with vegetable dyed wool, the whole rug has a moody color palette that is sure to make a statement. It’s all wool, with a soft, floppy feel that shows its age and authenticity. Low pile, scattered wear. 100% vegetable dyed wool. Exact Size: 4\'5 x 6\'
