ABOUT THE ARTIST

Susan Marabito’s new clay objects of adornment emerge from decades of experience within the fine arts and the international studio glass community. Originally from Pennsylvania, she moved to Seattle in 1997 and has since become an integral part of the arts community through her work with artists, collectors, and institutions. Her professional background includes roles as gallery director, general manager, client services manager, director of galleries, and artist liaison, including nearly a decade at Chihuly Studio. These experiences, alongside her ongoing contributions to the Museum of Glass, Pratt Fine Arts Center, and Pilchuck Glass School, have shaped a studio practice informed by the history and evolving forms of the medium. Her current work reflects a cultivated aesthetic developed through years of supporting the growth and vitality of the studio glass field.
