A fantastic large silver cross, believed to be French, set with gleaming deep red garnets and embellished with enamel. The back is beautifully made - the pendant could even be worn with the reverse to the front - and is lightly gilded.SIZE: 5.2 x 4.5cm, 6.5cm including the bail. Please note the chain is not included.WEIGHT: 10.3g.MATERIALS: 925 sterling silver, gold, garnet, enamel.HALLMARKS/STAMPS: None found.CONDITION: The cross and stones are in very good antique condition but there is significant enamel loss, see photos.ERA: Estimated 1780-1800.
