This Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase presents itself in a stainless steel case with a diameter of 40 mm and impresses with its clear and functional design. Polished and satin-finished surfaces on the case reflect the light, while the finely fluted crown is adorned with the brand’s typical double-G logo.

The handcrafted dial in the shade “Frosted Copper” is inspired by the Ore Mountains and their mineral resources, which are located deep underground. Mining was a tradition in and around Glashütte for centuries, until the art of watchmaking replaced mining. A more recent tradition is the Panorama Date, which has been a trademark of Glashütte Original watches since 1997.

The moon phase display harmoniously combines functionality and aesthetics: at Glashütte Original, the moon disc is also elaborately manufactured in-house. In this model, it is made of German silver and galvanised in blue. Then two round moons are diamond-turned, which gives them their curved shape and shine. Although the moon disc has two moons, the small cut-out in the dial always shows only one moon in its various phases.

Like all models in this family, this mechanical timepiece stands for the highest precision, long running time, reliable stability and uncompromising aesthetics. As part of the 24-day Excellence test, every Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase is subjected to a detailed test at the manufactory that goes beyond the scope of the German chronometer test. A special engraving in the form of a “Q” on the case back seals the quality of each individual watch.
