In 2020, we teamed up with Paris based Merci for the first time to create the LMM H01 Limited Edition an understated, time only field watch decked out in a quintessentially Hodinkee color palette. For our second collaboration with the discerning curatorial minds behind the French retailer, we wanted to take a completely different approach, boiling timekeeping down to its most essential elements while taking on a more boldly ambitious approach to the design than ever before. Now, wed like to introduce you to the result of those efforts the Merci INSTRUMENTS Beaumarchais H02 Limited Edition for Hodinkee a faceted, time only dress watch that translates our favorite elements of vintage watch design into a distinctly contemporary timepiece suitable for everyday wear. The eight sided frames sharp angles contrast with the smooth lines of the circular secondary frame below that rests on the cushion- shaped case, contributing to the overall sense of dynamism and dimensionality. In addition to its geometrical complexity, the cases 36mm diameter sizing and slight profile of just 9.8mm are decidedly dressy and friendly for all wrist sizes. Housed within the case, youll find the automatic mechanical Miyota 9039 movement, which imparts the hacking seconds hand and a power reserve of 42 hours. A honey brown leather strap completes the look and is made to get softer and more intimately fitted to ones wrist as its worn in.
