Kelim Jewelry Design was founded in 1990 by two young designers. Their collection now includes hundreds of timeless, organic and geometric designs all handmade in a family-owned workshop in Istanbul, Turkey.

Most of the line is matte .925 Sterling Silver with a fine silver finish that is galvanically protected against tarnishing. This gives the silver its beautiful white luster and protects it from discoloration.

However, sterling silver can still discolor due to the copper content. Silver tarnishes the most when it is exposed to strong environmental influences or becomes dirty. Care should therefore be taken not to keep the jewelry in direct contact with moist air, perfume, deodorant, hairspray or make-up for weeks on end and always store it in a well-sealed box or jewellery bag when not in use.

If the jewelry tarnishes despite good care and handling, you can either clean it with a liquid silver cleaner or polish the surface again with a cloth (for matte jewelry) to make it shine again. However, if you wear the jewelry regularly, nothing should happen. The best way to keep jewelry shiny is to wear it and let it shine.
