When I designed the Isla de Cubagua Necklace, I kept thinking about places where the ocean has shaped identity. Cubagua has long been associated with pearls, with marine richness, with beauty that comes directly from depth rather than surface.

I wanted this piece to feel like it belonged to that world. Not as a literal interpretation, but as a continuation of that heritage. The pearl represents what the sea creates slowly and patiently. It speaks of femininity, composure, and a kind of elegance that is natural, not constructed.

The shrimp element brings movement into the design. It reflects the living rhythm of the ocean, the idea that abundance is dynamic and that strength often comes from adaptability. Together, they create a dialogue between stillness and motion, between origin and evolution.

For me, Isla de Cubagua is about honoring what forms beneath the surface and carrying that quiet luxury with intention.
