Eupleura caudata - Thick-Lipped Drill

The thick-lipped drill is a sea snail that is carnivorous - it uses its radula - or teeth like tongue, to etch away at other mollusks in order to access the flesh inside. The egg casings of this particular snail are shaped like tiny champagne flutes.  

This shell necklace is made from the molding and casting of a real, found seashell in recycled silver. This shell was found by my friend in Oak Island, North Carolina and is native to the Western Atlantic Ocean.

The charm is only 1\" long and 3/8th\" wide and it is strung on a 16”, 18”, or 20” sterling silver cable chain of your choice.

This design is currently available in solid polished or oxidized sterling silver but other metals and finishes are always available, email me for custom options and a quote.
