HOT ! Pretzel the Chicken Ornament

These unique ornaments are made completely by hand by a fair trade women’s cooperative in Nepal. Made of sheep’s wool that is hand dyed and hand felted into sheets that are a little like paintings… each one is a bit different. They are carefully cut and embroidered by hand and stitched together using age old techniques.  These ornaments are portraits of some of Jes’s special animals. Created and interpreted by the Nepali artisans from Jes’s own drawings they capture the fun-loving spirit of Jes’s world.

Pretzel- Our son raised a baby chick from an egg at school, reading to her every day as she sat on his lap. As she grew into a big beautiful hen, we brought her home, only to find out she believed she was one of our dogs, walking alongside them + often coming into our home. Pretzel soon became part of our family.
