Detailed information on Roasted - Rwanda Washed (Coffee of the Week)

About the bean

The Rwanda Washed comes to us from the Rwanda Small Holder Specialty Coffee Company, a dynamic, farmer-owned enterprise dedicated to marketing, exporting, and roasting exceptional coffee while providing vital services to smallholder cooperatives. Profits are reinvested in the farming community in partnership with the specialty producer, Gift Coffee Company, an initiative dedicated to elevating 625 smallholders through coffee excellence. These farmers lean into organic fertilization practices by default. Arabica cherries are processed on-site, and washed with crystal-clear water sourced from a historic nearby mountain. It doesn’t get more specialty-forward than this!Diving in for the taste, we’ve got a classic apple (malic) acidity buoyed by a nuanced flavour blend of whispering caramel and cocoa that lingers long with a light mouthfeel and aromatic freshness. We went darker to balance the natural brightness with a smooth cocoa, full-bodied landing - we arrived happy! These beans are dense but roast evenly.

RICH JASMINE. CINNAMON. COCOA. CARAMEL. RESONANT. PLEASANT.
