This early Victorian English dressing table mirror dates to circa 1830 to 1850 and is crafted in a beautiful bird’s eye maple with warm golden tone and striking natural figure. The mirror sits on a refined plinth base with a single dovetailed drawer and features classic late Regency to early Victorian design elements including scrolled bracket supports, pierced cresting, and the original cast brass side screws that allow the glass to adjust in angle.

Toilet mirrors of this period were considered an elegant personal luxury and were used for daily grooming and hairdressing. The silhouette of this example reflects the transitional style between the Regency and Victorian eras with its restrained ornamentation, architectural scrollwork, and clean lines. Brass hardware has a mellowed patina and functions well. The drawer operates smoothly and the hand cut dovetails remain strong.
