Breezaire WKSL Series 265 cu. ft. Cooling Unit – WKSL 2200 Overview

WKSL 2200 is the direct replacement for the WKS 2200.

The Breezaire WKSL Series is a split-system cooling solution that installs the evaporator inside your wine enclosure while placing the condenser up to 50 feet away. When used in a properly built enclosure, it maintains a stable temperature range of 48°F–63°F and relative humidity between 50%–75%.

The WKSL 2200 is designed for installation by a qualified HVAC or refrigeration technician experienced with compressor-based systems. The evaporator and condenser are connected with copper tubing, and the unit must be charged with refrigerant during installation. Power is hard-wired to a properly sized 110V AC electrical source. The WKSL Series uses Breezaire’s durable adjustable mechanical thermostat.

Humidity & Installation

Breezaire units naturally maintain a stable humidity level that will be lower than the surrounding ambient humidity.

• High ambient humidity → the unit reduces humidity to proper storage levels.


• Very low ambient humidity → additional moisture may be needed.

If adding moisture, only use natural evaporation from a small porous water container. Do not use a humidifier.

Temperature & Installation

These systems are designed to cool up to 25°F below the ambient temperature on the condenser side. Improper placement can affect performance.

• The condensing unit must have fresh air below 85°F.


• Poor ventilation or confined spaces will prevent proper heat rejection.


• This may appear as a malfunction even when the unit is functioning correctly.

Available in two models: the WKSL 2200 for wine cellars up to 265 cu. ft. and the WKSL 4000 for spaces up to 1,000 cu. ft.

Note: The WKSL Series is designed for installation by a qualified HVAC or refrigeration technician. Setup includes connecting the evaporator and condenser modules using copper tubing and low-voltage wiring, with power supplied from a properly sized 110V AC source. These systems must be charged with refrigerant during installation. Each unit features the Sentry III+ digital control system for accurate temperature and humidity management.

BLACK Series Cooling Units

BLACK Series units are special order and require 2–4 weeks for production. Once manufacturing has begun, returns or cancellations cannot be accepted.

This is a special-order modification and makes the unit non-returnable.

Upgrade: Cord Out the Back of the Unit

The standard Breezaire configuration places the power cord on the wine cellar side. If your installation requires the cord to exit into an adjacent space, you may upgrade to have the cord come out the back.

This modification is a special-order request and makes the unit non-returnable. A hole must be made in the back grill for cord placement. The cord will be located at the bottom right on the back of the unit.

Optional Modification: Power Cord Out the Bottom Rear (WKL Series)

This option relocates the power cord to exit from the bottom rear of the unit. This is a special-order modification.

Optional Modification: Hot Exhaust Air Up (WKCE Models)

If your installation requires top exhaust, you can add this optional modification. This directs hot exhaust air upward instead of out the rear. Adequate space for fresh air intake is still required. For example, wine cabinets must still have space behind them for proper airflow.

The bottle probe is available for Breezaire WKL, WKE, and WKC Series units. It is highly recommended when the wine cellar is located in a warm area, as it allows the unit to regulate temperature based on the liquid temperature inside a bottle rather than the ambient air.
