With a sleek, low-profile setup, the MRCOOL® DIY® Series OuttaSight™ 12k BTU Ceiling Cassette delivers reliable heating and cooling, making it an ideal choice for virtually any room. This ceiling cassette stands out for its flexibility and is available in multi-zone configurations. Unlike many other ceiling-mounted units, the MrCool® DIY® OuttaSight™ 12k BTU model can be installed in less-than-ideal spaces and easily fits between any joists spaced 16 inches apart — including engineered I-joists.

Because it doesn’t rely on ducting or wall mounting, it’s an excellent fit for both brand-new builds and retrofit projects. The OuttaSight™ is compatible with the MrCool® DIY® Quick Connect® line set, which arrives pre-filled with R-410A refrigerant. If additional line length is necessary, a No-Vac® Coupler can be added. Along with its ultra-quiet performance and multiple operating modes, the unit includes swing functionality and an Elevation feature that lowers the filter panel, making filter maintenance simple. All functions are easily controlled with the included remote.

To ensure long-term satisfaction, the unit comes backed by a limited lifetime warranty, plus a 7-year warranty on the compressor and a 5-year warranty on parts.

What is the MRCOOL® DIY® OuttaSight™ Ceiling Cassette?

The MRCOOL® DIY® OuttaSight™ Ceiling Cassette is a sleek, discreet, design-focused air handler option within the DIY® Ductless Mini-Split series. Designed for multi-zone systems but compatible with the single-zone 18k BTU DIY® Ductless Mini-Split, the OuttaSight™ comes in three different sizes: 9k BTUs, 12k BTUs, and 18k BTUs.

Do you have to connect all of your air handlers at the same time when you\'re installing a Multi-Zone DIY® system?

You do not need to connect all of your air handlers to a Multi-Zone DIY® Ductless Mini-Split system, but you do have to meet a certain BTU capacity depending on which condenser model you have. You must install at least 3/4ths of the BTU capacity of the condenser in air handlers for the system to work properly. This means that if you have a 36k BTU Multi-Zone DIY® Ductless Mini-Split condenser and four 9k BTU air handlers, you\'ll need to install at least three of them at the same time in order for the system to properly function.

Are the indoor and outdoor components included?

The MRCOOL® DIY® OuttaSight™ is a new air handler option to give you the choice between a ceiling cassette and a typical wall-mounted air handler. When you purchase a Multi-Zone DIY® system, you\'ll need to be sure that you select the OuttaSight™ Ceiling Cassette as an option.

Does the system include the communication wire to connect the indoor to the outdoor unit?

The OuttaSight™ will come with a DIYPRO™ cable, which securely connects the air handler to the condenser. This cable has a special, tough exterior that protects it from damage from weather, animals and pests, and lawn tools and appliances.
