Introducing the new fragrance line of 1616 Arita Japan, \'Scent by TY\'.
Teruhiro Yanagihara lends his artistic touch to the product design of the incense and candles, while the artist Izumi Kan curated the scents for Scent by TY Standard, including incense, aroma candles, and hand soap. Izumi, with a deep appreciation for a place\'s essence and atmosphere, embarked on a journey to Arita, the birthplace of 1616/Arita Japan, to source fitting ingredients. Drawing inspiration from the layers of time since 1616, elements like pine trees, Arita-yaki white porcelain, and Arita\'s historic showroom have been transformed into fragrances. The result is a captivating blend featuring the aroma of pine trees, enhanced by vibrant notes of litcea and cardamom, creating a vivid and woody scent. This exceptional fragrance creation embodies the brand\'s signature style, offering a truly unique experience that even evokes a subtle sense of nostalgia.

Disclaimer:
1616/arita japan products are produced in the same factories as the original Arita pottery but take a completely different design approach. 1616/arita japan stands for contemporary products that can be used every day, though made with the extraordinary workmanship, thinness, and strength of original Arita ware.
Based on extensive research on Arita ceramics and an analysis of historical local masterpieces, Scholten & Baijings created a series named Colour Porcelain. Typical Japanese colors, such as aquarelle-blue, light green, red-orange, and ochre, are recontextualized and applied in new combinations on a set of contemporary, highly functional tableware that in its entirety still reflect the typical Arita color spectrum.
Layered color compositions are carried out in various textures and shades of glaze and are combined with the natural white of the porcelain itself. Made with a delicate sense for local crafts and industry, Colour Porcelain shows an original European perspective on Japanese tradition.
