Cozy Candle Care + Burning Tips

For the first burning experience, be sure to allow a few hours for the candle to reach a full melt pool. That’s when the wax meets the jar’s edge. This will prevent wax from tunneling on future burns.

To avoid soot and encourage proper burning, remember to trim your candle wick before each lighting.

Lauren’s mindful candle tip: When blowing out a candle before you leave home or for the evening, say to yourself, “I blew you out.” while acknowledging the flame has extinguished. Doing this will keep you from stressing out.

Don’t be like Michelle and power burn your candle. Avoid burning a soy candle for more than 4 hours at a time.

When ½” of wax remains, pour boiling water into the vessel and allow it to sit overnight. By morning, the wax will solidify and float to the top. Remove the wax, and wash with soap and warm water. Use upcycled vessels for votives or flowers.
