HOT ! Large Double Sided Oxidized Sterling Silver Celtic Cross On Steel Chain

This heavy sterling silver Solvar Celtic cross necklace pays tribute to the high crosses of Ireland which date back to the 9th century. A traditional Celtic Cross design, the pendant features and oxidised background and trinity knots on each arm of the cross on both sides.

One legend tells how St Patrick saw a pagan standing stone imprinted with a circle, the symbol of the moon goddess. He is said to have blessed the stone, marking it with a Latin cross. Another tells of St. Patrick combining the circular symbol of the Sun God with the Latin cross to tie the two religions together and ease the transition into Christianity. Whatever the case, it gave us what we know of today as the iconic Celtic Cross.
