HOT ! Apatite, Opal, Pearl, Aquamarine, and Ceramic Necklace

 

Mermaids have long been symbols of mystery and transformation, tied to the sea’s beauty and danger. This necklace draws on that lore with freshwater pearls, once said to be the crystallized tears of sea maidens, aquamarine, regarded as a sailor’s talisman of safe passage, and apatite and Ethiopian opals, stones associated with imagination and shifting light. Set with sterling silver, these elements weave together an adornment that echoes the shimmer and depth of the ocean.



I started with the fantastic artisan carved ceramic mermaid pendant. The chain is composed of three different links of gorgeousness: 8mm pearls ‘galaxy wrapped’ with 4mm pearls, 8x12mm apatite rectangles and 2x3mm Ethiopian opals, and varied sizes of rough aquamarine.


This necklace is sterling silver with my hand-forged hook and eye clasp. It is approximately 33” long. The mermaid pendant hangs down a little over 2.5”
