HOT ! Vintage Leonard Paris Dress 1980s Silk Floral Print Size M L

This is a striking vintage Leonard Paris dress dating to the 1980s.  This vintage Leonard Paris dress has large shoulder pads, typical of 80s fashion, and a narrow standing collar with long inset sleeves.  The dress closes with five gold toned metal buttons down the bodice and cinches with a matching sash belt.  The belt has gold metal ends that read “Leonard Paris” and “Made in Italy”. The dress is unlined.  The floral print is quite beautiful in tones of red, yellow, green, ochre gold, orange and brown and really pops against the black background colour.  The print is signed in a few places with “Leonard”. 

Label: “Leonard Paris Made in France” - I assume that the belt only was made in Italy.  Leonard is often compared to Pucci, and there was similarity in the complex, colourful mod prints utilized by both during the late 1960s and into the 1970s.  Leonard was a textile business that expanded into garments in 1958, initially printing on English weaves and introducing a line of printed silk jersey in 1968.

Sizing: The size label reads as a French size 1, and although this vintage Leonard Paris dress should fit a medium size, please rely on the following measurements for fit, noting that cuts were generous during the 1980s, so although this vintage Leonard Paris dress measures as a large, it is meant to fit oversized:

Sleeves:  24” from shoulder seam

Sleeve Inseam:  20”

Bust: 40” around

Waist:  40” around, meant to be cinched

Hips:  40” around

Overall length:  44”, measured flat

Condition:  The vintage Leonard Paris dress is in excellent condition with no wear, tear or pulls.  This dress looks to have seen very little use and was well stored over the last 40 or so years.
