Detailed information on Hermès Brides en Soie Necklace

A silk necklace by Hermès. Hermès’ Brides en Soie (also seen as Brides de Soie) necklace is a petit h piece, made from repurposed materials from the Hermès workshops. It is crafted in printed silk twill wrapped around a cotton cord, sometimes finished with small leather details, and designed to sit as a choker or short necklace.

The form draws on the house’s Chaîne d’Ancre language, translating that hardware attitude into something soft and wearable. As with all petit h creations, each necklace is unique, with pattern and colour combinations determined by the scarf silks available at the time. Lightweight, comfortable, and easy to wear every day.

Hermès petit h (pronounced “petit ash”) is the house’s experimental atelier for objects made from what most brands would discard. Founded by Pascale Mussard in 2010, petit h redirects leftover materials from across Hermès’ métiers, think leather offcuts, silk remnants, crystal, porcelain, wood and hardware, and treats them as raw material for new, small-run creations.

The process runs in reverse: instead of designing first and sourcing materials second, petit h starts with what exists, then builds an object around it. That is why pieces are typically one of one, or made in tiny variations that are never identical in colour, finish, or detail. The result can be playful, but the workmanship is serious, executed by Hermès artisans and invited makers working across disciplines.

Originally presented through travelling pop-ups and boutique takeovers, petit h became a formal pillar of Hermès’ world, with a permanent Paris space opening in 2013 and continued nomadic installations that keep the assortment constantly changing. It is Hermès at its most candid: precision craft, immaculate materials, and a willingness to let the remnants lead.

This example is from their very first collection back in 2013. It was purchased in 2013 from the New York Madison Avenue boutique. It is presented in perfect condition and is complete with the original box and paperwork.
