HOT ! Skeleton wing necklace

An elegant yet rustic and edgy necklace featuring sculpted wings with a skeletal feeling to them. I sculpted these wings inspired by the hauntingly beautiful and tragic pictures (by Nick Brandt) of petrified birds. Unsuspecting animals that choose Lake Natron in Tanzania as a resting place end up staying there eternally. Chemicals in the water turn them to stone. The last picture shows the wings and the photos I was inspired by.Made from solid bronze. Bronze is nickel- and lead-free, as well as a hard and durable metal. They are polished and partly oxidized to enhance details and then protected with durable jeweler’s lacquer. The wings come mounted on an adjustable brass chain; choose between a short (over-bust) or long (under-bust) length.Made on demand, takes me up to 7 workdays to complete.
