Inspired by 20\'s and 30\'s Star Garb headdresses and my love of a good collar, but more importantly, an ode to Helena D’Algy - The Exquisite Sinner. From my Boho Folies collection.
Helena was a prominent silent movie actress and Folies performer. An image of her in a most delicious sequin dress - made up of large diamond shaped panels - was buried in amongst various folies costumes of the mid 20’s and although I have since found out that it was in fact a costume for the 1924 silent movie “The Exquisite Sinner”, I feel it captures much of the same mood and piqued my curiosity in much the same way as those delicious Parisian Folies costume designs.
