This \"Corona\" lounge chair by Poul Volther for Erik Jørgensen in orange wool from the 1960s is an exceptional piece, perfectly preserved despite its 60 years of existence. A true time capsule, this chair has a steel base with a beautiful patina, adding character to its appearance. The seat and back cushions, made up of several segments, are also in excellent condition, almost like new.
Poul Volther, the designer of this chair, studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1945 to 1950. Influenced by the functionalist design of masters such as Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen, he quickly gained notoriety as an independent designer thanks to his innovative creations.
The Corona chair, created in 1964, is arguably one of his most famous works. It perfectly embodies modern Danish design with its clean silhouette and sturdy construction. The chair has won numerous awards and is considered a timeless classic of Danish design.
Volther has collaborated with several major Danish furniture companies such as FDB, Erik Jørgensen and Kvist Industries. His work has been widely recognized and celebrated, earning him numerous accolades and retrospective exhibitions honoring his contributions to design.
The \"Corona\" armchair measures 97 cm in height, 88 cm in width and 82 cm in depth, offering a generous and comfortable space. Its iconic design and remarkable condition make it an essential collector\'s item, a symbol of the excellence of Danish design from the 60s.
