The Crown Panto glasses from the 1940s-1950s represent one of the most iconic styles of that era in France. Allegedly designed for royalty and nobility, Crown Panto features a distinct frame design with a crown-shaped top, crafted from thick celluloid material through meticulous hand cutting, polishing, and buffing. The frame is characterized by transparent tortoiseshell coloring and patterns. Noteworthy details include small dots (2 or 3 points) on the sides of the frame and arms, along with a linked chain, making them standout features of antique French eyeglasses. Building upon this classic style, Elye is added metal nose pads to enhance comfort and lend the frame a more tactile quality.
