Misho yuzu, grown directly from seeds, is a rare and original variant of yuzu - a citrus fruit, popular and familiar to the Japanese. It takes 15-20 years for the tree to bear fruit, which allows Misho yuzu to develop a more complex and refined scent, distinct from the commonly grafted yuzu. Misho yuzu peels left after the juicing process, cannot be incinerated or composted, and must be taken away as industrial waste at a very high cost for farmers. In collaboration with local partners, utilizing steam distillation, areme successfully extracted the valuable essential oil from these peels, turning them into another source of income for farmers.
