The wounded swan, taken from the Grandes Heures du Duc de Berry, carries layers of symbolism from purity to martyrdom. Nearby, the zodiac Gemini twins, likely from a richly painted Book of Hours, reflects the medieval fascination with astrology and the belief that celestial movements shaped human life. Intertwined with these figures are delicate floral patterns, a characteristic of manuscript borders that gave even sacred pages a sense of liveliness. Ethically made in Los Angeles.
