Detailed information on Roaster of the Year Box Set - Peach Cobbler and Sidra

Roaster of the Year Winning Box Set (Peach Cobbler and Edinson Argote Sidra)

Taste two of the coffees that earned us the 2026 Roaster of the Year award.

This box features two of the three exceptional single origins that were part of our winning submission to Roast Magazine: Peach Cobbler blend (as seen on Fellow Drops) and Edinson Argote’s Sidra Thermal Shock Washed from Colombia. Both coffees are light roasted, only available as whole beans.

(The third coffee Layo Teraga Cooperative’s Guji Washed from Ethiopia is out of stock till the 2026 crop arrives in March/April 2026).

Now shipping coffee roasted on Mar 16th (Peach Cobbler) and Mar 9th (Sidra).

Peach Cobbler

Tastes like: Ripe Peach, Jasmine petals, Cardamom Cake

A vibrant and complex blend featuring components from Ethiopia Layo Teraga, Edinson Argote’s Thermal Shock Sidra, and Diego Bermudez’s Cardamom Cloud. This cup bursts with three distinct yet perfectly complementary flavors in every sip—bringing out the best of each coffee in a beautifully balanced way.Why This Coffee Stands Out

Created as Driftaway’s blend submission for the 2026 Roaster of the Year award, Peach Cobbler became the centerpiece of our winning box—scoring 90 and 91 points in evaluation. It may well be the greatest blend we’ve ever crafted.

Each component plays a vital role: the Layo Teraga brings a bright strong structure; Edinson\'s Sidra adds layered fruity complexity and sweetness; and Diego Bermudez’s Cardamom Cloud contributes spice depth and finish. Together, they create a cup that’s many greater than the sum of its parts—a composition so intricate, it’s almost unimaginable in a single coffee.

Colombia Edinson Argote – Sidra Thermal Shock Washed

Tastes like: Juicy passionfruit, Candied lychee, Jasmine petals

Region: Huila, Colombia | Varietal: Sidra | Processing: Thermal Shock Washed | Altitude: 1,850 MASL

Why This Coffee Stands Out

Sidra is a rare varietal grown at Quebraditas Coffee Farm in Huila, Colombia by Edinson Argote, a rising star in Colombia’s specialty coffee scene. After serving in the military, Edinson began working at his cousin’s washing station in Acevedo, where he discovered a passion for cupping and coffee quality. That early curiosity grew into a deep commitment, leading him to acquire Quebraditas with his partner Luz Angela.Often compared to the celebrated Gesha varietal, Sidra is known for its floral, tea-like character and vibrant fruit notes—and has been featured in multiple World Barista Championship-winning routines. This lot underwent a Thermal Shock Washed process, a method that boosts clarity and complexity while unlocking an intensely fruit-forward profile.

Price Transparency:

Price transparency matters because many coffee farmers earn less than their production costs.

What We Paid (Farmgate + Export & Import): $10.89/lb | FLIRP (Fairtrade Living Income Price): $3.03/lb | Commodity (NYSE coffee price): $3.61/lb

Our light roasts develop their best flavors after 2–3 weeks, peak around 4 weeks, and remain delicious for longer. For extended freshness, consider freezing the coffee to preserve its quality even longer.

BREW RECIPE:
