This exceptional Japanese whetstone was selected by us and imported directly from Japan, thoroughly tested and sealed with clear lacquer on the sides to protect the stone for long term use.
It measures 238 mm (9.37 in) long × 82 mm (3.23 in) wide × 39 mm (1.54 in) tall, and weighs 2080 g (73.37 oz / 4.59 lb).
Hardness: 5Ozuku is an Eastern Mine revered for its high quality Whetstones. Ozuku has been closed down from mining for decades and all of the remaining stock of Ozuku stones are held by wholesalers in JP. Ozuku produced a wide range of stone types and strata. Ozuku are prized for their extremely fine abrasive particles and mirror polish produced by the harder stones. Ozuku are treasured by the razor honing community and for great reason! Some of the hardest, most fine stones were mined from Ozuku and we\'re excited to offer these! This giant Azuki (green) colored beast is decorated with floating Karasu patterns. This stone offers maximum surface and lifetimes of use. A perfect stone for finishing razors and tools! This example is hard yet quite easy to use with extremely smooth operation, overall. Has a few of what looks like fossils on the surface! Will work great with Mikawa nagura progressions and standalone finishing.
